About The Darker my Horizon

  • Formed late 2014 from the ashes of 'Sacred Heart' (Paul Stead - lead vocals & guitar / Mark Stephenson - lead guitar & backing vocals) who released 4 well received albums from 2004 to 2011, and who played headline, support and festival dates all over the UK with the likes of: Thunder, The Quireboys, Blaze Bayley/Wolfsbane (ex-Iron Maiden), Saxon, Tygers Of Pan-Tang, Girlschool, Toby Jepson (ex-The Little Angels), Asia, Kee Marcello (ex-Europe), Dokken, Bonfire, House Of Lords, and many more.

Former 'Born to be Jovi' bassist Max Notaro - who's tribute to Jon, Ritchie & co led them to dates all over Europe, including a full house at Lords Cricket Ground and performing at MTV Music Awards in Berlin. And recently joined ex'Black Forge' drummer Gavin Rodriguez - means 'The Darker my Horizon' are made up of extremely experienced musicians.

An original melodic hard rock band influenced by classic rockers like Bon-Jovi, Europe, Whitesnake, AC/DC & Guns 'n' Roses etc right through to modern arena giants such as Nickelback, Hinder, Disturbed, Foo Fighters, Black Stone Cherry and so on - TDmH have a mixture of upbeat catchy anthems, brooding rockers and heartfelt power ballads. Something for everyone...

In less than 18 months between Facebook, Twitter and Reverbnation we've gained well over 8,000 genuine likes/followers (from all over the world) and our incredibly well-received debut album "Acquiesce" led to high-profile supports with iconic rockers 'Nazareth' at London's O2 & Chelsea F.C's Under The Bridge, Queensryche founder Geoff Tate's 'Operation: Mindcrime' (featuring Simon Wright of AC/DC & Dio, and members of Disturbed). NWOBHM legends Steve Grimmet's Grim Reaper at iconic The Underworld (Camden, London).

The amazing voice that is Terry Brock (who has sung with Michael Bolton, Kansas, Giant & Strangeways, amongst many), ex-Testament guitarist Steve Smyth's 'One Machine' and have played headline, support and fest dates with up and coming rockers: Skarlett Riot, Stone Broken, Chasing Dragons, Altered Sky, Jupiter Falls, V0iD, Dirty Thrills, Freeway Mad, A Mouth Full Of Matches, City Of Ashes and more...

Album two "No Superhero" is out now (through Broken Road Records LTD), our 3rd is already written - lot's of great live dates arranged and lot's more coming. ‚Äč Many thanks and best wishes to former members Gavin Tester (drums), Simon Fearn (bass) & Alan Kirkham (additional guitar) for their valuable input and friendship.
